How to Remove Sweat Stains from Clothes

Follow These Steps to Remove Sweat Stains from Colored and White Clothes by Pretreating with Clorox 2® Pre-Treat Stain Remover Spray:

1. Remove

   Remove the garment: do not treat clothing while wearing it.
2. Test

   Test for colorfastness by applying the Clorox 2® Pre-Treat Stain Remover Spray to a hidden area on the fabric. Wait 10 minutes, rinse with water and let it dry. If the fabric color is affected, do not use this product.
3. Remove

   Remove all loose dirt from the fabric and blot wet stains with a clean absorbent cloth.
4. Spray and Wash

   Spray Clorox 2® Pre-Treat Stain Remover Spray directly onto the fabric, covering the entire stain. Wait 10 minutes and then wash immediately with an all or mostly colors load for colored garments, and an all or mostly whites load for white garments.

Follow These Steps to Remove Sweat Stains from White and Colored Clothes by Pre-Treating with Clorox® Bleach:

1. Rinse

   Rinse to remove loose soil.
2. Test

   Test the stained fabric for bleachability by making a solution of 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of Clorox® Bleach and 1/3 cup of water, then applying a drop of this solution on a hidden area of the fabric. Rinse after 5 minutes and dry. If there is no color loss, you can safely use liquid bleach on the item as described below.

   There are some fabrics and materials that should never be bleached. These include: wool, silk, leather, spandex and non-colorfast items.

3. Soak

   Fully soak garment for 5 minutes in a solution of 4 tablespoons (60 ml) of Clorox® Bleach per 2 L of water.
4. Wash

   Wash as usual with your favorite detergent.

Test for bleachability

To make sure the item is bleachable, you can do a quick bleachability test. Make a solution of 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of Clorox® Bleach and 1/3 cup of water. Apply a drop of this solution on a hidden area of the fabric. Rinse after 5 minutes and dry. If there is no color loss, you can safely use liquid bleach on the item as described above.
